Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 14 September 2026

These terms govern the licensing and use of desktop software offered by StormStag Studios. Paid licences are sold through Paddle as our authorised reseller.

1. Scope and licensor

The licensor and provider of the software is Jörg Huelmann, sole proprietor trading as StormStag Studios, Bahnhofstraße 15, 72793 Pfullingen, Germany (hereinafter StormStag or we). Contact: support@stormstagstudios.com.

These terms apply to paid licences and free trial versions of our desktop software. Individual agreements take precedence. Different terms apply only where expressly agreed.

2. Private use

Our currently offered single-user licenses are intended exclusively for natural persons and private, non-commercial use. Use in connection with professional, self-employed, or business activity, and use by organisations, is not permitted without a prior individual agreement.

For commercial or other professional use, please contact us in advance at support@stormstagstudios.com.

3. Orders through Paddle and licence agreement

Our order process is conducted by our authorised online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all orders. The purchase agreement for a paid licence is entered into between you and the Paddle entity identified during checkout. Paddle receives payment, provides the order confirmation and invoice, handles order-related customer service, and processes withdrawals and refunds.

StormStag remains the developer and licensor of the software. The licence agreement governing use of the product is between you and StormStag under these terms. It takes effect when you accept these terms and successfully complete the transaction through Paddle. Paddle's buyer terms and refund policy presented during checkout additionally apply to the order and payment.

The presentation on our website is not a binding offer. Before you complete an order, Paddle displays the specific product, total price including applicable taxes, and the other order details.

4. Licence scope and activation

After successful completion of the transaction, you receive a perpetual, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and non-sublicensable right to install and use the purchased software privately on up to two of your own devices at the same time, unless the specific offer expressly states a different scope.

An internet connection is required for activation and periodic licence checks. Following a successful check, the software provides a time-limited offline ticket. For a legitimate device replacement, contact support@stormstagstudios.com.

In particular, you may not rent, resell, distribute licence keys, make the software publicly available, circumvent technical protection measures, or use the software contrary to these terms or applicable law. Statutory rights, especially regarding error correction or interoperability, remain unaffected.

5. Free trial

The Aurelix Workspaces trial may be used for ten days from first launch, solely for private evaluation. It requires neither a user account nor payment details and does not automatically convert into a paid licence.

The agreement for use of the trial takes effect when you accept these terms on the trial page and actively start the download. Use may be restricted after the trial period expires.

6. Provision, updates, and defect rights

The software is provided as a download for compatible Windows PCs. Its essential functions and known technical requirements are set out in the product description shown when the agreement is concluded. Use the free trial to verify compatibility with your particular system before purchase.

During the period required by law, we provide updates, including necessary security updates, insofar as required to keep the product in conformity, and inform you when they are available. Beyond this, there is no entitlement to particular new functions or permanent compatibility with every future hardware and software configuration.

Statutory rights for defective digital products apply. In particular, these terms do not limit statutory rights to cure, terminate the agreement, reduce the price, or claim damages.

7. Withdrawal, refunds, and support

As seller, Paddle handles withdrawals and refunds for purchases in accordance with statutory requirements and Paddle's refund policy applicable at the time of purchase. Information and access to Paddle buyer support are available on our Withdrawal & refunds page.

Immediately before opening Paddle Checkout, we use a separate, unticked checkbox to obtain your express consent to performance beginning before the withdrawal period ends and your acknowledgment that you lose your withdrawal right once provision begins. We associate this declaration with the Paddle transaction and confirm it by email. The licence key and software are provided only after that. Mandatory statutory rights concerning defects remain unaffected.

StormStag provides technical product support at support@stormstagstudios.com. Paddle handles order, payment, invoice, and refund inquiries.

8. Liability and backups

We have unlimited liability for intent and gross negligence, as well as for damages arising from injury to life, body, or health. The same applies to claims under the German Product Liability Act and where we have given a guarantee or fraudulently concealed a defect.

Use of the software is at your own risk to the extent permitted by law. In particular, we are not liable for damage caused by use of, or inability to use, the software unless we are responsible for intent, gross negligence, or a slightly negligent breach of an essential contractual obligation.

For a slightly negligent breach of essential contractual obligations, our liability is limited to the foreseeable damage typical for this type of contract. In all other cases, liability for slight negligence is excluded.

The software does not replace regular data backups. To the extent that loss of data could have been avoided through reasonable backups expected of the user, our liability—except in the unlimited-liability cases stated above—is limited to the typical cost of restoration. Statutory rights concerning defective digital products remain unaffected.

9. Termination of the licence

The licence ends if the underlying transaction is validly withdrawn, fully refunded, or reversed. In that event, the software may no longer be used and the licence key may be disabled.

If these licence terms are materially breached, we may terminate the licence agreement after a reasonable cure period has expired without remedy. No cure period is required where the breach is particularly serious or a cure is clearly impossible. Mandatory statutory rights remain unaffected.

10. Final provisions

German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. For consumers, this choice of law applies only insofar as it does not remove protection provided by mandatory provisions of the country of their habitual residence.

If any provision of these terms is or becomes invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions remains unaffected.
